The Salty Edge

Our Story

We started The Salty Edge to bridge the water and the shore

Shoreline stays, deep-water plays. Find your edge.

Why we exist

Where deep-sea adventures and local stays meet. Live life on the edge.

Most visitors only see the beach side of Topsail. We book the charter, the stay, and the local spots that sit between the shallow flats and the deep drop.

Skim the shallows, chase the shelf, and stay right where the action is.

What makes a day with us different

  • One place to book the charter, the stay and the coastal plan.
  • Every trip is planned around the tide, not a fixed timetable.
  • We send you to local spots we would go to ourselves.

Where we run

We launch from 143 Canal Dr in Sneads Ferry. The creeks, sandbars, New River Inlet and the waterway are a short run. We work four towns — Sneads Ferry, North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach. Read the island guide.

The front of the island is the postcard. The back of it is the reason people move here.
  • Charters that cover water

From the marsh cuts to the shelf edge — fishing, sunset and island runs with captains who grew up on this water.

  • Stays where the action is

Shoreline houses and coastal inns we would actually send you to, close to the dock and the towns we work.

  • Local spots, not a brochure

Ramps, parks, piers and the places worth the drive — the coastal attractions that make a full escape.

Captain JakeCaptain / Adventure Guide

Jake has run the waterway behind Topsail since he could see over a console. Go out with him if you want to understand the island, not just look at it.

SarahGuest Experience

Sarah handles the questions, the tides and what to bring — and will tell you if a different day would be better.

MarcusCaptain / Fishing Guide

Marcus guides inshore for redfish, trout and flounder year-round. Patient with beginners, especially kids on a first fish.
